Check if sound is muted or turned down on the speakers or sound card.
1) To check if sound is muted, do the following:
a) On the right edge of the Task Bar (the bar with the 'Start Button'), locate the speaker icon. This is often located next to the clock.
b) Click once on the speaker icon.
c) If the 'Muted' box is checked, clear it to stop muting the sound.
d) If the volume indicator is very low, increase the volume.
2) To turn the speaker volume up, do the following:
a) Locate the volume control on the speakers.
b) Turn the speaker volume up.
3) To turn the sound card volume up, do the following:
a) Locate the volume control on the sound card.
NOTE 1: This is located on the back of the computer. The sound card dial should be located near where the speakers are connected to the computer.
NOTE 2: Not all sound cards have a dial.
b) Turn the sound card volume up.
